On September 12, 2024, Alpro Foundation team continued its mission of empowering communities by organizing an impactful outreach trip to the Orang Bateq village in Taman Negara, Pahang. A dedicated team of 10 Alproeans embarked on this journey to extend essential healthcare support and share meaningful moments with the Orang Bateq community.
The trip aimed to address the healthcare needs of the community, and the presence of Dr. Sharmani and Pharmacist Then ensured that the medical consultations were both comprehensive and compassionate. The team conducted basic health screenings, providing vital health checks to identify any underlying concerns among the villagers. This was a crucial step in safeguarding the community's well-being, as access to medical services is often limited in remote areas.
Thanks to the generous sponsorship from Champs, the team administered multivitamins and deworm tablets to both children and adults. Additionally, HURIX'S sponsored cough mixtures, which were distributed to alleviate respiratory symptoms commonly experienced in the community. These contributions significantly enhanced the outreach's impact, ensuring that the villagers received the care they needed.
However, the day wasn’t just about healthcare. The Alproean team infused the experience with joyful activities and fun games, which brought smiles to the faces of the children. There was also an educational aspect to the trip, as Zun Kiat led a basic Mandarin lesson for the kids, introducing them to a new language and expanding their learning horizons.
